I'm running this 95 km this July for Dad

I’m running 95km this July for my dad.

Last year, my dad died suddenly from a heart attack at just 65 years old.

One phone call changed everything.

Since then, life has looked very different. Alongside grief, my brother, Jack, and I have been navigating life without him next to us.

Someone in Australia dies from a heart attack every 95 minutes. My dad became one of those statistics.

So this July, I’m running 95 kilometres, one kilometre for every minute between heart attack deaths in Australia.

I’m not a fast runner, and some days I probably won’t feel like running at all. But grief has taught me that hard things are worth showing up for.

Every kilometre will be for Dad. For the conversations we didn’t get to finish. For the days he won’t see. For the beers we have to have without him.

And for every family who gets a phone call they never saw coming.

If you’d like to support me, any donation - big or small - will help fund the Heart Foundation’s research, prevention programs and support services.

For Tones. ❤️
