95km in July. I Didn’t Sign Up to Be a Runner - I Signed Up to Stop People Dying. The Running Part Just Came With It.
Yes, I’ve signed up to run 95 kilometres in July for the Run to Zero challenge - and no, I haven’t lost my mind. I’ve just decided to put it to good use.
Every 95 minutes, someone in Australia dies from a heart attack. That stat stopped me cold (which, ironically, burned zero calories). So instead of sitting on the couch pretending I’d “definitely exercise tomorrow,” I’m lacing up, logging kilometres, and running my counter all the way down from 95 to ZERO.
Will my legs complain? Absolutely. Will I dramatically limp to the coffee machine every morning? You bet. Will it be worth it? 100%.
Because while I’m out there huffing, puffing, and questioning every life decision that led me to this moment - the funds raised are going toward critical heart research through the Heart Foundation, so more families get the precious extra time together that so many have been denied.
❤️ My heart’s in this - literally. Help me keep it beating by sponsoring my run!
Please Donate & cheer me up
P.S. - If you see me on the street looking absolutely shattered, please don’t ask how far I’ve run. Just hand me water and say “you’ve got this.” That’s all I need.
