I'm running 95km this July for every person in Australia who dies from a heart attack, one every 95 minutes.
Why I'm Joining the Run to Zero Challenge
Heart disease has shaped my family's story for generations. Sadly, I've lost both of my parents to heart failure, and many of my family members have struggled with poor heart health throughout their lives.
That's why the Run to Zero Challenge is so important to me.
I'm taking part because I want to change the narrative. I want to break the cycle of heart disease that has affected my family for so long and take positive steps towards a healthier future. Every kilometre I run is a reminder that our family history doesn't have to define our future.
At the same time, I'm proud to be raising money to support research, prevention, and treatment that can help others facing similar battles. If sharing my journey encourages even one person to look after their heart health or supports life-changing research, then every step will be worth it.
This challenge is about more than running—it's about honouring my parents, creating a different future, and helping others along the way.
